Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for providing radiologic support services to physicians and the surgical team by operating imaging equipment, ensuring radiation safety compliance, assisting during procedures, and maintaining a safe and efficient patient care environment. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images and support physicians during surgical and interventional procedures.
• Adhere to all radiation safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements to protect patients, physicians, and staff.
• Accurately document fluoroscopy usage and procedure-related information in a timely manner.
• Monitor patients during procedures and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with established policies, procedures, and infection prevention standards.
• Prepare patients for radiologic and surgical procedures by verifying patient information, positioning patients, and adjusting imaging equipment and exposure settings as appropriate.
• Utilize proper aseptic and sterile techniques when preparing procedure trays, handling sterile supplies, preparing medications, draping patients, and assisting with procedures.
• Assist physicians and the surgical team by scrubbing in and providing technical support during procedures as required.
• Perform cleaning, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established sterile processing standards.
• Manage radiology and procedure-related supplies by monitoring inventory levels, maintaining stock, and assisting with ordering and receipt of supplies.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to promote quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support patient care and department operations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited vocational/technical Radiologic Technology program required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• Current state Radiologic Technologist license/registration, if required by state law.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or procedural setting preferred.
• Experience operating fluoroscopic imaging equipment (C-arm) preferred.
• Must obtain Special Class Engineer Boiler License within one year of employment.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention practices, and surgical suite protocols.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software systems.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an ambulatory surgery center setting.  The employee will be assigned a primary worksite but may be asked to float to other surgery center locations, dependent upon staffing needs.  This position is 100% in-office due to the nature of the responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear and smell. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation & Work Schedule:

• Full-time: 40 hours/week.
• Non-Exempt.
• Day Shift: Monday - Friday; start times vary between 6:30AM-7:30AM.
• No evenings or weekends.

• Mileage reimbursement for work travel at standard IRS rate.
